To begin, first add the Site Collection that has the site you want to check for Broken Links.To check for broken links, first select the site collections or sites that you wish to scan in the “ My SharePoint Environment” screen, then right click and choose the “ Create Reports” option, then “ Broken Links” item. This is achieved by using the Broken Link Manager component within the toolkit. With the SharePoint Essentials Toolkit, you can run various reports to help identify links that need to be modified or updated.
